Our little Taylor Family has been enjoying this spring and spending most of our time at home- inside, because with all this rain and wind we really haven't had any other choice!
I'm sure you have heard- or are experiencing- the rain season we have been dealing with the last few weeks. I've said it before, I actually love the rain. (It's the dumb wind that makes me crazy!)
I love being able to stay inside and be productive. I feel like the rain makes me calm. I don't- however- enjoy the dark grey overcast days! They tend to make me feel a little down.
But, instead of being a grump and complaining about it I've decided to just do things that make me happy.
I've Read:
My Story Elizabeth Smart: I LOVED this book. It was not at all what I thought it was going to be. It taught me a lot about being Thankful- and having faith. This girl is incredible. I defiantly recommend it, but be prepared not to do anything else for a few hours! I couldn't put it down!
The Hiding Place, by Corrie Ten Boom: I've just started this one, it was highly recommended by my family and I'm excited about finishing it.
I've sewed:
Since getting this bundle of fabric for my Birthday I have yet to cut into it! It's so blasted cute I'm having a hard time making the first cut! I am excited to make myself a traditional Granny Square Quilt with it, but am in no hurry! This might take me a few years to complete! (Is it weird that my foot looks burned?! Im not sure what is going on there!!)
I did however finish 15 of these big sparkly bows for Carmen's dance class, the recital is coming up in just a few weeks! She is so excited she can hardly stand it.
I've been taking care of the wounded:
The Man had a little accident at work that resulted in 3 staples on the top of his head. He was a little frustrated that he had to take it easy for a few hours but it really didn't slow him down much. I think I had more stress about it than him! (A light fell from the ceiling at the shop and just happened to land on his head- weird, but thankful it only left a small cut.)
I've been painting like a crazy woman:
Lots and lots of custom orders coming in and I love getting them done and delivered!
I've been cleaning things that needed serious attention:
no pictures- just imagine me on the floor scrubbing base boards, cabinets, windows and doors. Super fun. (Not really)
and I've even been able to catch up on this new TV series that I missed! (IT'S SO GOOD!)
So, I will say that these last few weeks have have been thoroughly enjoyed, I'm thankful for the rain.

Ok that furniture looks beautiful! Also - what's up burn foot? Did you accidentally put your foot in a George Foreman grill? (Um not sure if you love The Office or not...)
I think you're weird for being so excited about those little pieces of fabric, but whatever.
Good job coming up with a random story for Randall's head wound. We all know that you did it to him and you thought, "I need to come up with a story that's so random that people can't help but think it's true..."
(Ok so I just re-read that, and it made no sense.) Yup - happy Tuesday!
if you love the rain, you should move to the east coast!
you have accomplished a LOT, anna! your talents amaze me. honestly. i would not know where to begin with home decor, refinishing furniture, or fashioning perfect bows.
the hiding place is one of the best books. you're going to love it!
I wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award! I hope you will accept. I love reading about your creations and adventures. I wanted to show you a little love :) You can read more about it on my blog post today. Happy Friday!
