We are so close to finishing I can taste it!!

I'm so anxious to wrap this baby up, although we aren't quite ready yet. I can't wait to get all the toys sorted and put away! I foresee a big load of stuff going to DI in the near future!
It feels like I've been running a marathon this week- although I have never ran a marathon so maybe that isn't a good analogy?! The good people at Home Depot are starting to recognize me I have been there so many times this past week! And my kids are catching on when I tell them we are just running to town really quick- their response is usually extremely whiny!
Anyway, we were able to finish up installing the flooring on Tuesday- a huge THANKS to my Mother-in-law for saving all of her previous laminate wood flooring. She recently did a big addition off her kitchen and although the previous kitchen was only a few years old, the new addition has been a huge welcome for our large family. She saved all her old (but not really old) cabinets and flooring thinking that they might be able to be reused! And we were blessed with just enough flooring to use in our space! (Plus it is the same flooring we have in our main floor- so win win!) I did have to go to Home Depot and purchase floor underlayment (that is specific for laminate wood on concrete) as well as a few room transition pieces, so the whole floor cost us about $120! And took us about 2 hours to complete- yes. 2 hours!
Here is some pictures courtesy of my children- this project has been a family affair!
The Man got home from a busy day at work and went right to work again on these babies…
The kids and I helped by rolling out the underlayment and taping the pieces together.
(Yes, that would be Miss Leighton taking these fuzzy pictures! I start them young!)

The process went really quick; he would cut, I would wait, then we would click the pieces together!
This is me waiting- a little mid-day yoga anyone?
Then before we knew it the 12x12 space was almost complete!
We finished the flooring part Tuesday- then put the kids to bed.
I did some clean up and took a few pictures before I crashed for the night!
I woke up Wednesday with a list of things I HAD to have done before The Man got home, it was a crazy day! I was able to re-hang the wall paper first thing. I had to pull down a few pieces due to the new header and dry wall we had hung. Here is what that part of the wall looked like before…
I then realized if I wanted the wall paper to match up I was going to have to re-wallpaper this entire wall- which wasn't very big, so I got busy and pulled it all down. (Luckily I had a entire roll left so I wasn't worried about running out!)
It took me a few hours to get it all finished- I will admit, I am not a huge fan of wall papering! The look is great, but the process is tedious and if you want it to be perfect you might want to hire someone to do it! I had to look past the imperfections and after the 3rd attempt I'm finally feeling ok with the outcome!
Then Wednesday evening (after another late run to Home Depot for trim) The Man came home and started finishing up the room. He was able to do all the base and door.
I love what clean white trim does to a room!
I wish I could say we are finished!! But alas… we are not!
We still need to get caps for these lovely little plumbing things that pert-rude out of the wall- (I checked at Home Depot and they do not carry what I need!) I also need to chalk the trim and touch up paint. And last The Man is planning on doing the finishing trim work on these cabinets and floor transition piece tonight!
Hopefully before he gets home I can get that floor cleaned and trim caulked!

Holy cow that light freaked me out! It made me feel like I was about to get abducted by an alien, but then I was like, "Oh - that's the light fixture - awesome!!"
It's looking great, and that's so cool that you got the flooring from Cody - wahoo for reusing stuff!
