{I built a Bike Rack}

My garage always looks like this… sometimes it's worse!
...which tends to drive me bonkers!
I can't stand the jumbled mess of bikes and scooters lying around everywhere. I've tried telling the children to put them up against the wall- for fear of them getting ran over, but they don't seem to care.

This morning I was in the garage straightening things up, washing the filthy countertop, and sweeping the floor when I decided to try something. (I wasn't sure if it would work but didn't have much to loose!)

I have a stack of pallets that have been sitting along my house for a few months- I knew that someday I might use them! I brought it inside and pulled out my jig saw- with a little pressure and about 5 minutes I cut the top and bottom slats off flush with the middle braces. (See pic)

  Then I made sure and sanded the sides/top/bottom of the pallet. My kids are terrified of slivers so I hope this helped to minimize the risk!
The other side of this pallet will be used for something else Im sure!
Once I gave it a really good sanding I considered spray painting it a fun color. But then found these vinyl numbers and stuck them on instead- I like the wood look. (But maybe in the future it will be painted a bright color?)
Now for the moment of truth…
THEY FIT!!
I wasn't sure if the scooter or the wheels would actually fit in the spaces, but they did!
The Scooter fit perfect- which made me so excited, I hate trying to fid a place for them to stand! They always smack my ankles with the back wheel when I'm trying to put them away- I hate that!!
 The kids think its great to have their own number to park their "cars!" I think it's great that they are actually putting them away! Now lets hope they stick to it!

Yeah- this entire project was 100% free- and took about 10 minutes! No nailing or measuring required!
 I say a win win!

 What do you think? Anyone need a pallet? I have some more!

Looks great!
To keep your bikes from falling over, I suggest that you add equal spaced stringers underneath (same spacing as those on top).
