These cute little monkeys finished up their second year of swim lessons last week (except little Leighton, it was her first year.) We LOVE lessons at Heise Hot Springs. We do semi-private, meaning there are only 2 kids per instructor, and these kids love every second of it.
It's amazing how fast they start learning- the first day Leighton was doing "chicken, airplane, solider" and going completely under the water.
Mack has always been a fish and was in the deep end the entire time. He's so brave and loves jumping of the diving board and for the first time this year went down the slide several times all by himself!
Carmen is always super timid at first, but after the first day she jumped right in and became a pro. She probably grew the most this year, I was so impressed with how much she learned and how much braver she is becoming in the water. Her teacher was a boy this year and I thought that might make her nervous, but she loved him and did so well.
I feel like learning to swim in invaluable. We spend a lot of time in the water and around water and I just want these kids to be confident in the water and not afraid.
Although driving to Heise everyday at 1:30 in the afternoon (yeah- talk about middle of the day!) sometimes was annoying, it was worth the time.
Plus seeing the beautiful area we live in everyday made me super happy.
Anyone have a home in Ririe they want to sell? For real.
And as always, they are treated with free ice-cream on the last day! We lucked out and for the first two weeks in June we had amazing weather, it was hot everyday and wore the kids out. We looked forward to it everyday. (And I looked forward to the naps afterward!)
We also enjoyed some "free lunch" at the Elementary school before we went on a few occasions.
This girl cracks me up. She LOVES her hotdogs!!
Summer has treated us well so far!
