Etsy Shop

I decided to Be Brave in 2016, that is my resolution. (And I really don't like making resolutions!)
Do more things that scare me.
Do more things that challenge me.
Do more things that make me a better person.

With that being said I jumped right in to the New Year with both feet  and opened my own little Etsy shop! It's something that has been on my mind for a very.long.time! But I was never sure if it would work, or if I was good enough- Ya know, Im really good at the whole "self-doudt" thing! 

But I pushed all my negativity aside and convinced myself to just try it! What would be the worst thing that could happen? I could fail? And that might happen still!

But I did it anyway. 

The name was something that my kids helped me think of... it's kinda obvious! Our last name, then "tots" was Carmen's idea. First I was thinking "Tiny Tots" and then I said "Tiny Taylors" and Carmen then said "Taylor Tots!" It made me laugh and I immediately thought "Tator tots!" And since we do live in Idaho it stuck- and I kinda love it! Ha!!

 I started out drawing a few families that I already knew, mainly for some practice before I "launched" the shop! I wanted to make sure it was something that I could actually do- and a product people would actually want! 

I made some logos, ordered shipping materials, and started making these little family watercolors for friends and family. I've always liked to draw, color, you name it- art is my therapy (that and Target!) In college I took a few classes on watercoloring and charcoal drawing and loved them. Since then I've just drawn and colored on my own time for myself. I have a hard time sitting still! And if Im not occupied with either my kids, home, painting furniture, or other things on my To-do list, then I get bored really fast! I hate watching daytime TV and hate sitting around with nothing to do more!  I have learned that I am a much happier person if I keep myself busy. 

So here we are. 

The shop is open! I launched it yesterday (01.11.2016) on Facebook and Instagram and have already had a few orders, over 300 views, and 2 giveaway winners! It was very satisfying knowing other people liked my little family portraits! Hopefully I can keep up with everything and I'm hopeful this is just the beginning of this fun little journey!
