Why do you never hear knock-knock jokes about America?
- Because Freedom Rings.
Boom.
We celebrated the 4th this year in Rexburg with friends and family doing some of my favorite things. We went to the Rexburg parade, had a BBQ at Grandma and Grandpas- followed by a serious water fight and slip-n-slide! Then we ended the day at the Whoopie Days Rodeo watching the horses and bulls do their thing. Afterward was a quick firework show and we got home late with 3 really tired kids- and mom.
My favorite part of the day might have been the fact that I had 2 Dirty Diet Cokes in one day- these things are my favorite ever and Im pretty sure the employees recognize me by now! There is a new soda place by Maverick called Soda Vine that sells them and they are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! In fact- I might have to go get me one now that Ive brought it up!! It's worth the trip!
Anyway- back to the 4th- Pictures... here you go.
It was fun.
I love this holiday.
It's hard to see but the kids are all riding in the wagon with Grandpa, Rodney, Kyle, and Randall during the opening of the Rodeo on Friday night. I forgot my camera this night, so this was the best I got! I love these horses and seeing them all decked out- it makes me feel very patriotic.
I was so excited that the Holiday fell on Friday- making it a fantastic 3-day weekend!
Saturday was also a busy one for us . Carmen and I had a fun day shopping and getting pedicures with the girls, the boys (and Leighton) went to Alpine Wyoming to get some fireworks, then later in the day we went to the second night of the Rodeo- and watched Mack ride a sheep, more on that to come later!- we ended the night at our home lighting off some sparklers with family and neighbors and watching Randall light his hard earned money off in the sky!
He acts like a teenage boy when it comes to fireworks. Hence the blow torch- It's frightening.
I love that this holiday is centered around being with family and friends.
It was fun and busy- and we are still recovering 3 days later!
I'm grateful for this Beautiful Country we live in and the Freedoms we enjoy. I'm grateful for the people who have fought to keep it that way.
I'm also grateful for Dirty Diet Coke.
