I woke up Monday morning at 5:00am.
I was so excited to go to Disneyland I could not sleep.
So before everyone else got up I got showered and ready and did some laundry. The kids started to wake up after 6 and were also just as excited.
We ate a big breakfast that my mom made and loaded up our cooler with food for the park. We spend the entire day at Disneyland and didn't spend any money. We took in all our food and drinks and told the kids they could pick out souvenirs on the last day. My only advice on taking food would be to pack double what you think you will need, by the end of the day we had zero food/snacks left and we were all starving! When we left the park we stopped at the IHOP across the street from the park and ate- after 4PM the kids always eat free! That was a huge bonus and the food was great- or we were just that hungry!
But first we entered the park as it opened at 9:00am Monday morning!
Right when we arrived my parents ran to get Fast Passes to see Anna & Elsa while we took our time meeting characters, taking pictures, and making our way to Frontier Land.
These two were in Heaven from the moment we arrived.
As we arrived this Marching band came in greeting everyone, it was a fun way to start our day! Everyone was so happy.
As we entered we met up with Lacey's family and went straight to Frontier Land to get on Thunder Mountain roller coaster, we walked right in and had no wait time. The kids loved it- well, Carmen didn't Love it, but she at least tried!
As the day went by the park got REALLY busy, it was Veteran's Day weekend and all of the schools in California were out- so there was a lot of people. We waited in most lines for 30-60 mins and the kids were very patient between walking and waiting all day. I wasn't as patient.
The weather was beautiful, it was overcast about 70 degrees and perfect.
I had a friend of mine make these shirts for all the kids. I sent him a link for this font and he made each kid their own initial. (However, that morning we could not for the life of us find Leightons! When we got home that night we found it rolled up in the hide-a-bed, the one place we did not look!) Also, I forgot to pack a undershirt for Carmen and hers was a little big, after about a hour or so after we arrived my mom bought her a new frozen shirt- we couldn't stand how big it was!
Leighton spent most of her time on Randall's shoulders yelling at the characters! She was so funny. She was convinced they knew her and she made the whole day so magical. I loved having her there and watching her take it all in. I feel like she is the perfect age- if only she was a few inches taller!
I have a hard time picking a favorite ride, I did love the Buzz lightyear ride a lot and probably Splash Mountain is my next favorite!
I also loved having my parents there with us, they were a huge help with the kids and made it all that much more fun. ( I defiantly recommend taking parents with you if you go!) My mom was hard to keep up with and was the life of the party and my dad was great to sit with Leighton while we went on rides she couldn't. He was also fun to laugh at when he got on rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, he turned into a crazy person! We loved it.
Carmen's face in the Splash Mountain picture was priceless! She was so brave and went on every ride we went on, she would hold her hands up and do her best not to cry!! It was so funny. And Randall throughly enjoyed it all.
There is a building called Innovations that has all the super heroes and their props from the movies, Mack thought it was the coolest thing ever. My favorite was meeting Captain America, he was so nice with the kids and not to bad looking either! ;)
Randall's favorite ride was the tea-cups with Leighton, she laughed and smiled the entire time. She loved it. It was fun to watch her light up.
The girls favorite part was meeting Anna and Elsa, it was magical. (I think Ive said that a hundred times!) If you dont go get a fast pass right when the park opens they you won't get a chance to do this- it was 100% worth it! Our time was 6:30 so we were anxiously awaiting it to come all day. Once you go to the building they are in you wait in line for your turn. Then you go into this room with them and get to talk and take pictures. I know, sounds lame! BUT it was awesome, Anna was so entertaining and the kids were very star struck! Leighton kept asking for Christoff and yelling at Olof who was on the roof!
They havent stopped talking about it since!
When we left Leighton had to give them each big hugs and wouldn't stop bouncing!
I loved the lights and the music when night came, we didnt watch the parade the first night because while everyone was watching it we went and rode more rides. The lines were less crazy and we knew we could watch the parade another night that week.
When the park closed leaving was very caotic- I got very anxious! We waited the crowds out for a few minutes and then walked out to IHOP, then back to our condo for the night. The kids fell asleep before we even got to the room!
We got back to the room about 9:30 that night.
We got back to the room about 9:30 that night.
We all went to bed very fast that night. I could have done without all the people and lines, but besides that it was a great day to be at Disney! (Especially considering it started snowing and was below 0 degrees at home!)
