We originally had planned to go back to Disneyland, but because it was the "official" Veteran's day the park employees had told us that it would be VERY busy, so we stayed away! Thank heavens we purchased 3 Day; Park-a-day passes and were planning on staying the week, so we could go any day and didn't feel rushed.
We let the kids sleep in this morning and took our time with breakfast, let the kids swim at the pool, and got ready. We though we would go to Newport/Huntington Beaches and spend the day, but after talking it over for a bit we decided to go to Sea World instead.
The kids swam for a while and had the whole pool to themselves, it was a dream!
We loaded up and headed to San Diego, we were so glad we drove so this was a easy decision. It felt like a long drive but it was fun to see the ocean.
I have never seen the San Diego Temple and was excited when we passed it- it is stunning. I wish we could have went and spent more time there.
We arrived about 1:00 and we were all happy to see that it was not busy at all!
The Kids LOVED it, I was nervous at first that for the cost it wouldn't be worth it. But it was a ton of fun and the shows were fantastic, defiantly the best part.
Mack especially loved everything about it, he is currently obsessed with Sharks and anything "fish" so he couldn't get enough. He loved seeing the Dolphins and feeling the Sting Rays. These animals are amazing. The girls were a little nervous around the animals but loved the shows. It was a ton of fun.
This picture was right before my mom about got attacked by that Sting Ray- I laughed so hard, wish I would have caught it on camera! She screamed so loud!
Randall and Mack went on the rollercoaster- it was short but Mack loved it.
We also road the Sky Coaster from across the Bay, this did get my stomach a little tight because of the heights but it was fun to see the ocean from this view.
And I took my time walking around taking pics of all the cool plants they had.
And of course the Killer Whales were fantastic!
They played a video for the Veteran's and had them stand, it was very emotional. I may have cried, I was proud.
Before we knew it it was dark and the park was closing!
Mack decided he wanted his souvenir from here and picked out a seal stuffed animal and a shark tooth bracelet, he still is talking about this day. Anyway it was a fast- beautiful day.
We made a quick stop for dinner and then Target to grab a few things then we all fell asleep on the drive home- exempt Randall of course, again he got some serious road rage driving in the Calrifornia traffic!
