Halloween 2014

I have so.much.blogging to catch up on!!
October was a blur.

I over extended myself with Family Photo sessions... remind me not to do that again!
I was in charge of our Wards "Super Satruday" crafts, Primary Program, and Fall Festival... remind me never to do that again!
I volunteered to help in Carmen's Kindergarten class for the Halloween Party... remind me to never do that again!
And in-between all of that I had to wake up everyday and take care of the house/kids/husband/life. Fun.

I'm just grateful I survived.
My blog was neglected... as well as a few other things.
But I'm pretty happy to say that I am SO EXCITED for November!
We have some BIG things happening in the next few weeks and I can hardly contain the excitement I am feeling, today I woke up so happy! Which is not normal for me at all!

I won't tell you anymore about that- until further notice!

Anyway Halloween- Halloween was always my favorite holiday, until I had kids!
Now its just a lot of work!
What ever happened to dressing up on halloween only? I feel like by the time the actual day comes the kids are so tired of wearing their costumes that it ends in a fight! Thank heavens for the beautiful weather we have had so trick-or-treating was actually really fun for them.

I really tried to cut back on the activities this year, last year we did WAY to much and we were all drained before the Holiday actually came. With the kids being in school and all the other events going on they didnt even seem to notice that we didnt go out every night and do a bunch of things. I think I have created a bunch of homebodies! Ha!

We did go to the Hemming Village Hocus Pocus the Saturday before, and I will say that this event is such a great one! They have TONS of activities for the kids, amazing costumes, and my Dad was even there giving Wagon rides. We were only able to spend about a hour there but the kids loved every second. My favorite part was Malificent- this lady is amazing!

I even snuck into Lula Bella and bought me a new shirt... The Man didnt even notice!

Thursday the girls dressed up for their Dance Class parties, we love Mrs. Lindsey and they had a blast with all their little buddies.

Friday morning I helped in Carmen's kindergarten class, I will say- I do not know how teachers do it!! These kids were adorable but holy cow! It was hard! Tons of energy and although I was only there for 1 hour and a 1/2, I was sweating and wore out by the time it was done! It was fun to see Carmen in her element and meet all her little buddies. Ms. Birch is so patient and so great with all these kids.

Then for the actual Trick-or- Treating event, Friday night:
We started knocking on doors at 5:00, Im pretty sure we were the first to go out in our neighborhood! Randall wasn't home from work yet, but I couldn't hold the kids inside any longer. Our neighborhood is so great I actually just sent them out on their own- with Mack in charge! They loved it, every 20 minutes or so they would come back home and show me their loot, then head back out.

I found the girls costumes at TJMaxx a few weeks ago and they loved them. I made some crowns for pictures (Yes, I took them out a few days early and took some fun pictures in the forest! Cant wait to get them edited.) And Macks dragon wings came from Target. He LOVED his costume. Most years he hates dressing up, but this year he was in full character and had so much fun running around with those things.
This year I bought the neighborhood kids LED finger flashlights instead of candy, they loved it! I bought them on Amazon.com and by 7:00 I gave out all 200. I did have a few packs of candy on hand that I had to leave on the porch so we could go see Grandma Cody. We ended up staying at her house for a while and let the kids hand out candy to her trick-or-treaters. She lives in a very popular area and they get anywhere from 400-600 knockers, the kids loved scaring the kids and giving them candy. It was fun to just sit and watch them get excited when the door bell rang.
And of course the traditional pictures before they left to get their loot...

And yes,  I did dress up for one event. Like I said before, I was in charge of our ward's Fall Festival, so I couldn't show up without a costume! This was pretty easy to put together, but the make-up took me a while! It was fun to see people reactions and the kids thought I was a celebrity... I did sign a few autographs! Say Hello to Flo...

Whoa- those eyebrows are killin me!
I will say that we had a great Holiday- but Im really glad its over!
Saturday morning the kids went to Rexburg to feed horse and I got up and took all the decor down first thing! I couldn't handle it any longer!

Im feeling like Thanksgiving might be my new favorite holiday!
